Founder & though leader
Eric Groothedde
Leading EU Expert in Crypto Financial Crime Risk Management for Financial Institutions

My goal is to set the standard for how financial institutions effectively control crypto financial crime risk, allowing them to fight real-life crypto crime, while supporting bonafide crypto activities to flourish. Most of the activity is legitimate, and financial institutions should maximize their capability to filter right from wrong. This helps them in serving their clients better, reduce costs while fully commiting to their regulatory obligations.
I founded Crysk (a merge of 'crypto' and 'risk') in the autumn of 2023, building on years of experience in senior leadership roles across both banking and crypto, including ING and Binance. Since launching my advisory practice, I worked with leading financial institutions—including Rabobank and ABN AMRO—to design and strengthen executive‑level financial crime controls for crypto.

Through Crysk Institute and Risk Lab, I build solutions that help financial institutions embed crypto financial crime risk management into business-as-usual operations.
I’m known for translating complexity into clear communication and for delivering value across strategic, tactical, and operational decision‑making. Working closely with clients to solve complex problems at the intersection of crypto, regulation, and financial crime.
